This sign is one of 22 along Water Street on the west side of the Sutton County Courthouse. This sign preserves the history of the Fred & Serena Adams Trainer family, local ranchers.
The sign reads as follows:
"FRED & SERENA ADAMS TRAINER
Married in 1900, both descended from Sutton County founding families, raised their 12 children, Edith, Cora, Fred, Joe, George, John, Jack, Francis, Mercedes (Dee), Clifford, Serena, Mildred (Millie) here.
Fred died in 1923. His wife, affectionately known as “Aunt Rena” and to her grandchildren as “Big Mama” died in 1968.
In loving memory
by their children and grandchildren
