This sign is one of 22 along Water Street on the west side of the Sutton County Courthouse. This sign preserves the history of W. F. Whitehead, prominent citizen and well-loved Daddy.

The sign reads as follows:

"WILLIAM FORREST WHITEHEAD
SON OF
GEORGE WASHINGTON AND RACHEL FRANCIS WHITEHEAD

was born in Gonzales County in 1865-- settled in the Sutton County area in 1880s. Married Minnie Amanda Bales in Junction, 1890.

Forrest Carl (Cotton) married Emma Fawcett
