This sign is one of 22 along water Street on the west side of the Sutton County Courthouse. This sign preserves the history of Crawford Benton (Dutch) Wardlaw and his family.

The sign reads as follows:

Dutch, leading rancher and banker, early promoter of wool and mohair, served as past President of Producers Wool And Mohair Co., Del Rio, TX; Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers Assoc.; National Wool Growers 1939 – 1940."
