The Sooke Flowline is a 4 ft concrete pipeline built in 1911-1915 to bring water from the Sooke River to the Humpback Reservoir to provide water for Victoria, the Capital of British Columbia. Due to its steady gradient and sinuous character the flowine has been popular for hikers. As there are natural hazards on the route through the Sooke Hills, the flowline was posted with no trespassing signs. Some were eaten by trees but most are just ignored. This is a sample of a damaged sign as the flowline crosses the Sooke Mountain Road.
Type of Tree: Aspen
