EN: The keep of the castle ruins of Laufenburg is located south of the old town on a rocky hill. It is the symbol of the city. Since 2007 it is open to the public. From the observation deck on top of the tower one has an excellent view of the two cities of Laufenburg, the Swiss one on the southern and the German one on the north bank of the Rhine, which had a common Austrian city until 1797.
DE: Der Bergfried der Burgruine von Laufenburg ist steht auf einem felsigen Hügel südlich der Altstadt. Er ist das Wahrzeichen der Stadt. Seit 2007 ist er für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich. Von der Aussichtsplattform auf der Turmspitze hat man eine ausgezeichnete Aussicht über die beiden Städte Laufenburg, die schweizerische auf dem südlichen und die deutsche auf dem nördlichen Ufer des Rheins, die bis 1797 eine gemeinsame österreichische Stadt waren.
