MW0492 - USC&GS 'TENNANT RM 1' Reference Mark - Siskiyou County, CA - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey Reference Mark from 1948 in good condition. It is a brass disk monumented on top of a flat boulder projecting a few inches above the ground. This RM is part of the TENNANT series of marks (PID #MW0491). I was not able to recover the triangulation station or RM 2, most likely because of fallen trees and brush covering the area. The NGS datasheet is adequate for disk recovery.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1954 2 MI N FROM TENNANT. 2.0 MILES NORTH ALONG A GRAVEL ROAD FROM THE POST OFFICE AT TENNANT, IN THE TOP OF A BEDROCK OUTCROP PROJECTING 1 FOOT ABOVE THE GROUND, 85 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE ROAD, 17.9 FEET SOUTH OF THE STATION TENNANT, AND ABOUT 20 FEET HIGHER THAN THE ROAD.
