The old Schleicher County Jail has been serving the county since 1905, first as a courthouse and jail, and after the early 1960s, as county office space.

The old Schleicher County Hail was built around 1905 of local limestone. It was built with a gallows, as were most Texas County Courthouses. Unlike in many other Texas counties, the gallows here was never used.
