Located on South Central and the Salt River in Phoenix, Arizona, the National Audubon Society is restoring the native mesquite bosque or forest that would have traditionally covered the Salt River banks. The resulting combination of cover, water, nesting sites and foraging areas provide attractive areas for birds and other native mammals and amphibious creatures. There are ample opportunities to view the area, either from the Nina Mason Pulliam Audubon Nature Center on the west side of the Salt River or from the north side along Central Avenue.
