The historical marker provides text in Lithuanian, English, and Russian. The English text reads:

"Turaida is located on the other bank of the Gauja Valley. The construction of the former Riga Archbishopric Castle in Turaida began in 1214. Over the centuries, the castle has been rebuilt according to the development of military technology and changing architectural styles. The restoration of Turaida Castle main tower began in 1953. From 1976 until 2000, extensive archaeological excavations lead by the archaeologist Janis Graudonis took place in the territory of Turaida Castle. There is a museum in Turaida Castle, various exhibitions have been opened in the castle buildings."
