One of two grey granite police memorials that stand proudly in front of the Texas Department of Public Safety office, located one block south of the I-10 on Monterey Street in Ozona.

This memorial recalls the sacrifice of Corporal Willie Dale Taylor, who lost his life in the line of duty.

The memorial reads as follows:

"We the people of the State of Texas acknowledge and thank Corporal Willie Dale Taylor for the great sacrifice he made to keep the public safe. His efforts will stand the test of time. May God bless his soul. May 19, 1990."

"Corporal Taylor was killed when his patrol car was crushed by a tractor trailer while he was making a traffic stop.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters."
