The Oklahoma Bar Association offices are located on N.W. 18th Street, south of the State Capitol. A small area at the entrance has a few plantings, and next to the bronze plaque is a fountain created by having water flow out of a large pipe in a concrete wall.
The bronze plaque has a relief sculpture of Mr. Shipp and the dates 1941 - 1998. It reads:

John Shipp was from Idabel, OK where he had a private law practice and was Chairman of the Board of Idabel National Bank. He was well respected and held many positions over the years in private and government organizations. He died tragically in a small plane crash in late November 1998.
