According to the Texas Historic Sites Atlas, this one was once in a roadside park along US 287. Given that it was in need of restoration, it's likely it was vandalized or otherwise damaged. Obviously, the front plate went missing, but its replacement, complete with "Restored 2011", is very attractive and well-done.
