In brick and gravel concrete transformer built house on square plan from 1924 designed by architect JJ Hellendoorn. Great care was taken to the design and detailing of this transformer house in residential area Marlot.
Specific requirements by the “Dienst Stadsontwikkeling en Volkshuisvesting” because the building had to fit in with the architecture of the area in the style of the “Nieuwe Haagse School” The design of architect J.J. Hellendoorn fits perfectly with the architecture of the neighborhood. In the bottom are the Nieuwe Haagse School characteristic black tarred brick edges processed. Above it is, slightly overhanging, a gravel concrete superstructure in which the letters GEB vertically embossed.
The building is of general interest to Den-Haag for its architectural and historical value as a rare example of an architect-designed utility building that fits in his appearance at the Nieuwe Haagse School architecture of the residential area Marlot.
