Sign is located at the intersection of County Road 324 and Dufferin Street, northeast of the town centre.
It is at the Welcome to Lunenburg information area.
It depicts the Bluenose in full sail. the Bluenose is Canada's most iconic fishing schooner, setting several speed records in the 20's and 30's before being lost at sea in 1946. her visage still graces the reverse of the Canadian 10 cent coin, as it has since 1937.
Lunenburg is famous for its shipbuilding and fishing heritage. It is a designated UNESCO World Heritage site.
The sign is of wood construction. It also features the town's founding date of 1753.
There are large visitor information boards just behind this sign.
