Construction of the meeting house began in 1757. The building was used as both a church and a town meeting hall from 1757 to 1844. The town took over the building in 1856 and has been used as the town meeting place since then.
The cemetery has about 432 internments. Buried in the cemetery are Elisha Eaton and Samuel Eaton who were pastors for the church for its' first 62 years.
