The Tarr-Eaton House was originally occupied by William and Elizabeth Tarr, which was a 105 acre homestead and farm. He was a veteran of the American Revolution and an inn-holder who held a license to "keep Tavern and Retail Spirituous Liquors" and a constable, as well. In 1811 the property was sold to Joseph Eaton.

It is a 1 1/2 story wood framed house sheathed in clapboards.
