The Marlborough Head public house is located at the junction of North Audley Street and North Row. There is an identical sign hung from each facade and a similar picture over the entrance door at the junction.

The hanging signs show the picture above the pub name whereas the sign over the entrance door has the name above the picture. The picture shows a Regency style gentleman, probably the Duke of Marlborough.

Blenheim Palace was a gift from Queen Anne to the 1st Duke of Marlborough and the original painting from which the pub sign is taken is to be found in the Green Writin room at Blenheim.
