This Roman Catholic country church is a relative late comer in rural Prince Edward Island, not being built until the beginning of the twentieth century.

A wood frame Gothic Revival church, construction on the building was begun in 1902, with partial completion coming about in 1905. It was not consecrated until 1913, and not totally completed until the 1930s, with the finishing touches being completed on the interior sometime in that decade.
Well maintained, this is one of the few churches remaining on the Island still clad in wood shingle siding. The roof, however, now sports asphalt shingles, with relatively older ones on the spire. We don't imagine that tall, steep roofed spires such as this one get reshingled quite as often as does the rest of the church.
At the rear of the church is a small cemetery, with mostly recent headstones. There are about 25 to 30 headstones to date, spread about somewhat randomly, occupying substantially less than half the available space. It appears that the cemetery was begun much later than the church was constructed. This cemetery is as well maintained as is its church.
At the entrance to the cemetery is a steel gateway arch with wrought iron ornamentation, supported by concrete piers on each end. Below the top of the arch are the words "Corpus Christi Cemetery". The arch was handcrafted and donated by the Stewart Family in memory of deceased members of the family.
