St Giles's church was built in the Decorated Gothic style in 1861 and is constructed in basalt with Barrabool sandstone dressings. St Giles Church was last used for services in 1977 when the formation of the Uniting Church in Australia made the building redundant and the congregation moved to the former Wesley Church in Yarra St.
