To complement their successful merger, Best Block and McKinney Concrete Products announced today that the companies will be known as Boral Best Block, enabling the company to build upon decades of excellent customer service and quality products. Best Block, founded by F.P. Spratlen in 1982, has a manufacturing plant in Littleton and McKinney Concrete Products, founded by Owen McKinney in 1955, has a plant in Pueblo. The companies have supplied architectural concrete block, Keystone Retaining Walls, Cultured Stone and masonry products to the Colorado market for over 50 years.
Both companies were acquired by Boral Industries in September 2004. As a worldwide company with sales exceeding $4.8 billion in fiscal year 2005-2006, Boral brings the resources to improve local operations in all facets of the business. Boral is also dedicated to community development and is active in the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, HomeAid and the Pueblo YMCA.
