In the traditional village of Kontias, the windmills stand for over 200 years.

The windmills are of common Aegean type. The main stone building with circular floor plan, horizontally rotating conical roof of samaki (a type of cane) and vertically rotating wooden wheel with triangular sail.

In the year 2013, the windmills were renovated as hotel apartments. If you are lucky, you could be allowed to look inside.
