"Yasmin Gur is an Israeli artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Her work, biomorphic yet geometric abstract forms in wood, metal, and other materials, embodies sensuality, ambiguity, and ambivalence. Her recent work is built with reclaimed wood. Using weathered material, she appropriates the histories of her salvaged material to create structures that evoke the living processes of an organism. Her public commissions include PS1 Summer Celebrations, LIC, NY, Roberson Museum & Science Center at Binghamton, NY, and Reading Garden Outdoor Sculpture for PS 166, New York, NY. Yasmin earned her MFA from Brooklyn College, NY and received her BFA from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, Israel. Her work has been widely exhibited in Israel, and the United States. Additionally, Yasmin was a finalist in the 2015 Art Sprinter awards. She is currently a member of Sculptors Guild and a resident artist of the Chashama Studio Program in Brooklyn."
