In Hingham, in an area known as Hingham Shipyard, is this anchor by the Hingham Ferry Terminal.

The ferry is located by Shipyard Drive, near the shore. There are lots to park in - I'm not sure about short term spaces nearby.

This anchor is iron and wood. The iron is rusted, with a rod attached to a thin barbed piece. The wood bar is horizontally attached near the top of the rod. At the top an iron ring is attached, with a rope attached to the ring.

At the anchor is a small, hand written sign, with the following text:

"'English long-necked' Anchor
Style of anchor know as the 'English Long-Necked', was used from the 1500's until about 1850. Most ships of the period carried from three to five anchors, of various sizes, all made to this design. A large ship would carry two somer [ ? ] (main anchors, a sheet anchor, a stream and a wedge anchor. A spare would be stowed in the hole. This specimen was found off Graves Light, Boston Harbor."

There are also two drawings with parts of the anchor pointed out.
