The province’s second largest strawberry growing area, Great Village and environs produce hundreds of acres of strawberries. Seeing a large strawberry beckoning to passers-by, then, should not come as much of a surprise as they drive along Highway 2 near the little community of Glenholme, a few kilometres east of Great Village.
We imagine that the strawberry was initially placed where it is to advertise the U-Pick Strawberry Farm. When we passed by, however, there was a small sign, part of a much larger sign, advertising U-Pick hours for Millen Farms, but the season was still months in the future.

Millen Farms is even better known for its blueberries, growing nearly four times as many acres of blueberries as they do strawberries.
