The East Valley Baptist Church characterizes itself as a congregation who know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and become actively involved in a Bible-believing, Bible-preaching church that cares for them.Established in 1987, it started as a church when the Gwartney family moved from Grandview, MO, to Mesa, AZ to start a new Free Will Baptist Church as part of Home Mission's Target City project. The current pastor is Mike Cash. He is a 1997 graduate of Southeastern Free Will Baptist College. From there he went on to work with Rev. Jeff Jones at the Hilltop Free Will Baptist Church in Fuquay-Varina, NC before before moving to Mesa.
