The firm of Jamieson & McKinney are "well-known and reliable plumbers, gas and steam fitters, and wholesale dealers in plumber's goods...In May, 1873 the senior member of this firm, John M. Jamieson, a practical plumber and gas fitter...The business prospered...doing the bulk of the work in Ithaca...The business has extended into the surrounding counties... In February, 1883 James A. McKinney...became a member of the firm...They employ a force of twelve to fifteen men.".
