"example of the Rural Movement, which was inspired by romantic perceptions of nature, art, national identity, and the melancholy theme of death...Included in the cemetery is a section for the Civil War burials. The boundary line of that section is accentuated with four cannons...There is also a Potter’s Field located at its lowest point...in the spring of 2002 ...it was placed on the State and National Registers of Historic Places. "
