We met Jock in 2000 and have remained friends. We are so familiar with his art work that we do not even need to read the plaques any more. It is alway a thrill when we find yet another of his sculptures. This is no exception.

Champing at the Bit
This sculpture is a contemporary interpretation of the animal that changed the face of the prairies, the horse.
The medallions signify the floods that have inundated the Okotoks area.

Okotoks Art Gallery
Okotoks is a progressive town with a vibrant arts community. The Okotoks Art Gallery (OAG) reflects this wealth of creativity and dynamic energy. Located in the historic 1929 CPR Railway Station, the Gallery includes two gallery spaces for exhibitions , a gift shop featuring local and Canadian artisan wares, and also serves as the Visitor Information Centre for Okotoks.
Founded in 1981, the Okotoks Art Gallery is devoted to the exhibition of art and visual culture. In 2009 the facility was rebranded as the Okotoks Art Gallery and was renovated to meet Class A Gallery requirements and since this time it has been managed by the Town of Okotoks. The Gallery continues to benefit from the valuable support and creative energy of the Okotoks Arts Council.
Serving both the Town of Okotoks and the Foothills region, the Gallery presents an ongoing series of contemporary and historical art exhibitions. The Okotoks Art Gallery also runs programs and events for adults, families and seniors which promote exploration and connection to art in exciting ways.
