In 1838 John Gund and Gottlieb Heileman built their new City Brewery on this site after moving the brewery from its former location about four blocks northwest of here.
The Brewhouse to which this plaque is affixed, is part of the original 1858 structure
Erected with the cooperation of the LaCrosse County Historical Society
