These pigeon size sculptures line the curved walls of a walking and biking bridge over the Superstition freeway which splits two neighborhoods in Tempe, Arizona. The flight of sirens lines both the East and West sides of the bridge. They have the body of birds but the faces of humans. Some of the faces appear to imitate Roman heads, others more classical Greek and Egyptian. The artist states that they represent those who donated or were involved in the project. They are of latex reinforced concrete and attached to the patterned concrete walls.
