The Texas Trail of Fame website (see link) has a depiction of Ms. Roach, as well as this short biography:

Ruth Roach was an accomplished trick rider, a stunt rider in Tom Mix’s silent films, a world champion bronc rider and a rancher in Nocona, Texas. She was proclaimed to be the "World’s Most Beautiful Cowgirl," appearing with the Miller Brothers 101 Wild West Show. In 1917 she was credited with being the first woman to ride a saddle bronc horse at the Fort Worth Rodeo. In 1922 she rode a horse into the lobby of the Texas Hotel. The stunt was performed to proclaim the Fort Worth Stock Show officially open.
