Mattenbach is the name of a small river in Southern Germany. It begins near Degerfelden and flows towards west to Herten and the turns south with a full length of about five kilometers. It joins Rhine south of the Rheinfelden town district of Herten. The confluence spot is a small park with lawn area and fireplaces, a popular area to take a short swim in the Rhine in hot summers.

The Rhine is one of Europe's largest rivers with a length of over 1,200 km from the Alps to the North Sea. In its drainage area live over 50 mio. people.

The coordinates were taken from the pedestrians bridge over Mattenbach just next to the confluence spot.
