This historical marker is part of a set placed along Palmela, marking the most interesting places of the town.

The cinema was inaugurated in 1952, created by Wily Braun and Pedro Cavelleri. By then it has the most advanced projection system in the whole country. It worked as a cinema until 1981. It was bought my the municipality in 1989 and after renovations brought back as a cultural center.
