This old Gulf Station stands at the corner of N Oak street and W Colorado Street in downtown Pearsall. When it was built in the 1950s, this was the US highway 81, the main road through this small town.
With the passage of time and in the spirit of progress, the Interstate 35 Highway was built west of downtown Pearsall. This part of what used to be the US 81 through town was later designated the I-35 business loop.
Today (2015), the old Gulf station has been renovated and repainted, but stands vacant, awaiting its next tenant.
