The Old Frio County jail is located at the corner of S Pecan and E Medina Streets near the Frio County Courthouse.
This jail was built at the same time Frio County's first courthouse was built, in 1894. It served the community faithfully for many decades, until finally being closed in 1967.
Today, (2015) the Old Frio County Jail is a local history museum that is open at various times depending on the availability of volunteers.
