The Parque Venâncio Ribeiro da Costa was built in the early 20th Century, an initiative of the mayor Joaquim José de Carvalho. It was named Venâncio Ribeiro da Costa (a local pharmacist and a very popular man in the community) in 1930.
Nowadays the park offers a cool area, ideal for hot Summer days and it's very appreciated by the local population. It's a surprise to enter this park and see a completely different environment, lush green and tall trees, which is not usual in the region. No wonder, the park was designed inspired in Sintra and Buçaco, two places offering these characteristics.
