This huge statue of a phoenix is located in a pond at the western edge of the park south of Weil am Rhein. The park was originally created for the state horticulture exhibition in 1999 and was then turned into a public park.

The statue was part of the exhibit. It was created by Max Sauk in 1999. It is made of painted steel and has photovoltaic cells on the wings. It is about seven meters high and the wings are about 3.5 meters wide.
