This bench was placed as part of an Eagle Scout Project that was dedicated in 2006 honoring all World War II Veterans int the city of Uniontown. There are 15 benches in the WWII memorial area alone at the Fayette County Courthouse Complex. Names on the granite plaques, total over 3,000 individuals from the City of Uniontown who served their country in its time of need.
This bench was donated by operators of a local grocery franchise, of which their flagship store is in Uniontown. Their message is to salute WWII veterans, "the greatest generation"
