This bench was placed as part of an Eagle Scout Project that was dedicated in 2006 honoring all World War II Veterans int the city of Uniontown. There are 15 benches in the WWII memorial area alone at the Fayette County Courthouse Complex. Names on the granite plaques, total over 3,000 individuals from the City of Uniontown who served their country in its time of need.
The bench was placed by the First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Greene County, with a branch office just down the street from the location of this memorial. They have become a benefactor of the memorial, of which they have had a bench dedicated in their honor.
