This bench was placed as part of an Eagle Scout Project that was dediccated in 2006 honoring all World War II Veterans int the city of Uniontown. There are 15 benches in the WWII memorial area alone at the Fayette County Courthouse Complex. Names on the granite plaques, total over 3,000 individuls from the City of Uniontown who served their country in its time of need.
This bench honors three men of the Kumor Family of the North Union Township Coal Mining Town of Oliver #1 . Their names were Stanley, Joseph, and Peter. The Children, Nieces and Nephews of those three specific veterans gave funds to become a benefactor of this memorial and have a bench placed here in their honor.
