Young Gaius Bliss was the son of Gaius and Eunice Bliss. He was born on April 10, 1800. He died on November 16, 1814 when he was killed by an angry bull. He was 14 years old. As was the custom then, his gravestone has his age as 15, meaning he was in his 15th year of age.
The brownstone gravestone contains a willow and urn motif and the following inscription:
In memory of
GAIUS son of
Mr. GAIUS and
Mrs. EUNICE BLISS
who was instantly
killed by a Bull
Nov. 16, 1814 age 15
When death receives the dire command
None can elude or stay his hand
For when his dread commission's sealed
The youngest healthiest all must yield.
