You Are Here at the car park and start of the walking trail through Tangoio Scenic Reserve which is 27 kms north of Napier on State Highway 2 in the Hawkes Bay area of the North Island.

The signpost is at the end of the car parking area, just before the walking track crosses a swingbridge at the start of the trail. There is a picnic area 50 metres from this carpark over the bridge.
The walking trail follows the stream and leads to two beautiful waterfalls, the easiest to reach is Te Ana Falls and a steeper walk up to the Tangoio Falls.
The reserve itself is made up of native New Zealand bush in the lower part of the valley and consists of Pine forest in the upper part. The vegetation is of a coastal type forest and species include rimu, nikau, titoki, manuka and rewarewas well as ferns, palms, lianas in the lower sections. Wear decent walking shoes as it can be muddy in some sections of the track. Please remember no fires are allowed, neither is damaging or removing plants.
