The totem is concreted into the grassed area of the 'Tinonee Triangle' that is the frequent entry point for travelers to this quiet village.
On the northern side (towards the car park) of the totem, away from the Bucketts Way, there is carved TINOBAH, and RUSS. Tinobah is the pronunciation of the Koori word for the area, from which Tinonee was formed.
