The Chartreuse de Valbonne (WMPH4J) is an ancient monastery. The isolated on D 23 is about halfway between Pont Saint Esprit in the Rhone Valley and Saint Laurent de Carnols in the Ceze Valley. Within the monastery are two old sundials.

The dial in the main courtyard is circular and declines about 19° east of south. The gnomon is in place and hourlines discernible but no other details are visible. Like the monastery, time fades away. Picture taken at N 44° 14' 28.07", E 4° 33' 15.1977"

The dial above the small cloister is rectangular and declines about 19 east of south. Again the gnomon is in place and the hourlines just visible. The picture was taken at N 44° 14' 26.0385", E 4° 33' 18,4455"
Sundial Type: Vertical - Wall mounted dial plate
