The historical marker provides text in Lithuanian and English. The English text reads:
"The Cathedral of SS Stanislaus and Vladislas is the main Catholic church in Lithuania. King Jogaila started its construction in 1387. Destroyed and rebuilt with each new century, the cathedral changed its appearance. L. Gucevicius gave it its present Classical form with Gothic elements in the late 18th century, and the exterior statues were added in the 19th century by T. Righl. The most decorative part is St Casimir's Chapel with the remains of the patron saint of Lithuania. The crypts beneath the church contain the remains of Lithuanian rulers and bishops. The belfry (57m) was built in 1522 on one of the 14th century towers of the Lower Castle."
