"New Jerusalem or Swedenborgian Church, one of the early churches was formed in 1816 by Dr. Lewis Beers. They erected a church in 1823 and it was dedicated in 1825. The church was used until about 1855 and then made into a barn. The barn was still standing as late as 1912. There is a NYS Historical Roadside Marker at the site (Corner of Curtis and Danby roads)."
