From: (visit link) Rudder Park Lookout is an Apex Club
Project. Enoch Rudder built his home here on a
section of the 812 acre estate which he purchased
from Samuel Onions in 1836. Rudder planned a
private town and named it Kempsey after Kempsey
on the Severn in Worcestershire, England. An
historical marker placed by the Macleay River
Historical Society is in the park, together with
other memorial plaques. See the North Coast Red
Gum, "Eucalyptus Rudderi" which was planted in
1986 by Major Lonel Rudder.
The reservoir tower was built in the 1920s. It is
now the home of community radio "Tank Radio".
