Raven - Helsinki, Finland - Figurative Public Sculpture on Waymarking.com

At first glance, particularly from a distance, the statue looks like a real raven resting on a metal bracket on the corner of the building. The raven is looking out over the nearby Market.

We were very curious about the meaning of this raven on the building until we found a posted waymark for the former neon sign that used to be here. The neon sign waymark (visit link) tells us the following:

"Located next to the Havis Amanda, Market Square Pharmacy is familiar to many in the 40's as Raven Pharmacy. this Pharmacy is in a good location; the beautiful location continues to receive attention. Helsinki city center is just a few minutes walk away from the Pharmacy."

So it turns out the raven was a decoration for the former Raven Pharmacy at this site. Now it is home to Finlandia Varainhoito, a financial investment company.
