The broad-gauge train line to Mansfield was opened 7 May, 1891, and closed on 8 November, 1978. More recently a majority of the closed line has become a shared use trail (pedestrians, cyclists, and horse riders).
Other signs (and the other side of the signs) depict the history and use of the railway line.
