The public library of Eiken was founded in 1972 with a small collection of only 300 books. The first location was in the old rectory; in 1974 the library moved into the school building, where it stayed for almost 30 years.
In 2003, a new town hall was built and the old one was converted to become the new library. It was modernized and equipped with computers.
In 2004, the neighboring municipalities Münchwilen and Sisseln joined. Today the library has about 7,800 item on stock and is used by about 1,000 people.
